Katie Henery CV
Environmental and Fine Artist
Katie is a contemporary artist with a love for nature and a passion to conserve it through her art. Her artistic practice focuses on the Natural World and her love of wildlife, landscape, and the marine environment. This, in turn, inspires her printmaking, land art, photography and pen drawings on vintage maps.
Her work mainly focuses on the Northumberland Coastline and the magnificent scenery and wildlife it offers. Katie recently opened the Niche Studio/Gallery in Amble Harbour Village which showcases her own, and other, artist’s work.
She graduated from Newcastle University in 2015 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art after studying a four year degree.
Katie has previously exhibited work at the Hatton Gallery and XL Gallery at Newcastle University and has twice exhibited at the ONCA (One Network for Conservation and the Arts) Gallery in Brighton as part of the Whalefest Exhibition in 2014 and ‘The Whale Road’ Exhibition in 2015.

2014- Art Residency in collaboration with Pangaea Explorations and The ONCA Gallery to sail 1600 miles across the North Atlantic from Reykjavik, Iceland to Gothenburg, Sweden via The Faroe Islands in order to record data on Whale sightings and make artwork- culminating in an exhibition at The ONCA Gallery featuring the work of the four participating artists.
