I have been busy this week working on two new handcoloured lino prints featuring a puffin in thrift design and a roseate tern design. The new artworks have been cut, inked up, printed onto somerset paper using my mangle printing press and are now hanging in the studio drying. Once dry I will be hand colouring the prints in watercolour. Can't wait to see the prints as part of the series!!!
On 20th April 2016 Niche Gallery and Harbourside Studio joined forces to welcome HRH Sophie Countess of Wessex to Amble Harbour Village. The Countess had a look around Niche's artwork and was particularly interested in the map drawings. She was lovely and even took a business card on her way out!The se are just a few photos from the day!

Dolphins in Amble Harbour!
Ever since I opened Niche Gallery in Amble Harbour Village I have been on the look out for dolphins in the harbour and on Tuesday my luck was finally in! My Dad and I were sitting in the pod and he spotted something in the water off North Pier. I realised it was leaping dolphins we could see so we jumped up and ran all the way along the pier to see them. After watching them from the harbour edge we were lucky enough to be picked up by boat to watch them. We had amazing views of the pod of around 10 bottle nosed dolphins and at one point even had one swimming close enough to touch! Here are a few of my photos and my Dad's sketches from the day!
I'm very sure there will be many more dolphin inspired paintings, prints and drawings to come!!
